Exploring Waterfront Development in Bucks County
Over 125 business professionals gathered yesterday at Pen Ryn Mansion for the Bucks County Breakfast, part of the Chamber’s County Breakfast Conversations, to explore the Bucks County Waterfront Revitalization Plan and the impact it will have on the County.
The breakfast featured a panel discussion with panelists Lynn Bush, Executive Director, County Chief Clerk, Bucks County Planning Commission; Robert Loughery, Managing Director, Keystone Companies Group, Inc.; and Robert White, Executive Director, Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks. The discussion was moderated by Tracey Matisak, WHYY Host.
In its 7th year, the County Breakfast Conversations is visiting eight counties throughout northern Delaware, southern New Jersey, and southeastern Pennsylvania to explore the new opportunities in each county that are driving local and regional growth, and making our region an attractive, competitive place to do business.
The next county breakfast will be in Mercer County on February 23 and will explore transportation infrastructure. View more information on this upcoming event here.

Philadelphia Eagles Not Raising 2011 Ticket Prices
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Eagles have announced they will not increase their ticket prices for the 2011 season. The team has increased tickets once over the past four years and their average price of a ticket ranks 20th in the NFL.
“As ticket prices across sports and entertainment continue to rise, we have done our best to be sensitive to the frequency and amount of increases for Philadelphia Eagles tickets,” said Joe Banner, President of the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the event of a work stoppage in 2011, the team announced a refund policy for general admission seats.
According to the Eagles, season ticket holders can receive credit towards future games or reimbursement that will include interest from the due date of the final payment.

Andre Iguodala: How Will Injury Affect His Trade Market?
Andre Iguodala: How Will Injury Affect His Trade Market?
Andre Iguodala has been struggling all season with Achilles tendinitis and it has gotten so bad that the 76ers star will be on the shelf till at least Jan. 10. Obviously it is going to be tough for the 76ers to be without their best player, but the real question is how the tendinitis affects Iguodala’s trade market.
According to reports, the injury is not what will change Iguodala’s trade market, the 76ers’ recent success has.
'It's not good enough to give them a good young player and some cap space for Iguodala now,' one GM told ESPN’s Ric Bucher. 'The tenor in Philly has changed.'
The time off might even help No. 2 overall pick Evan Turner get some time as the primary scoring option for Philadelphia.

Three governors take the oath
(CNN) - For New York, New Mexico and Michigan, the start of the new year means a new governor.
On Saturday, Democrat Andrew Cuomo became New York's 56th governor, Republican Susana Martinez became New Mexico's 27th governor and the nation's first female Hispanic governor and Republican Rick Snyder became Michigan's 48th governor. The three new state chiefs seized the reins amid difficult economic realities, something that remained a constant throughout the ceremonies.
Cuomo was sworn in Friday night before his formal inauguration Saturday. As a sign of the times, the public was not included in the swearing-in ceremony, and the inaugural event will host a fraction of the people that typically attend.
In a radio interview earlier in the week, Cuomo said the state's finances influenced the celebration.
'The challenges are daunting,' Cuomo said. 'So anyone who underestimates the slope of the hill that this state has to climb, let's call it a mountain, is just not dealing with reality.'
Martinez assumed her place in history in a private ceremony at midnight, and, in a speech, acknowledged the state of the state.
'I assume the duties of governor understanding this is a challenging time,' Martinez said. 'Our state and its leaders must have the courage to make the kinds of changes that will positively impact people's lives and put us back on a course toward prosperity.'
Snyder's inaugural address in Michigan focused on innovation, an essential element for a state with a 12.4 percent unemployment rate.
'This is our opportunity to realize we have a bright future,' Snyder said. 'It is time to deliver on high expectations.'
Thirty-seven governors were elected in the 2010 elections, 24 of whom were elected to fill open positions. Saturday is the first day of swearing-ins that will continue for the next couple of weeks.
The transition will see prominent state leaders step down including Republican Govs. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California, Charlie Crist of Florida and Mark Sanford of South Carolina, as well as Democratic governors, some of whom were replaced Saturday, including Bill Richardson of New Mexico, David Paterson of New York, Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania and Jennifer Granholm of Michigan.

2 Wounded In Atlantic City Shootings
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Two men were shot in separate incidents Saturday in Atlantic City, but authorities say it doesn’t seem the shootings are connected.
Police say 23-year-old city resident Tyquin James was shot multiple times in the chest around 1:25 p.m. in front of Magellan Manor apartment complex. James had surgery a short time later and was hospitalized in serious condition, but he is expected to fully recover.
Two men were being questioned by police, but no charges have been filed.
The other shooting victim, 18-year-old Shahid Dixon, was wounded around noon in the 500 block of North Indiana Avenue. The bullet shattered Dixon’s femur and he was hospitalized in stable condition.
Further details on the incident were not disclosed, but authorities were trying to determine if it was connected to
gunfire that broke out in the same area Friday afternoon.
