Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Match Up For Date Night

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Match Up For Date Night:
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West returned to Kanye's apartment after sharing dinner at N62 in NYC last night. The new couple were in sync wearing similar leather pants for the date. It was their latest outing as a duo following their hand-holding debut at the opening of Scott Disick's new restaurant earlier this week. Kim and Kanye are apparently going strong since relationship rumors heated up last month.
She's one of many stars that have attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner in years past, and could be missing tonight's event in favor of hanging in the Big Apple with her man. Kim's mom Kris Jenner is representing the family in Washington DC, though, and started the fun at a pre-Correspondents' Dinner party yesterday.

Will the Mayor lead a movement to save our schools?

Will the Mayor lead a movement to save our schools?:
Michael Nutter talked a great deal about education during his reelection campaign. His inaugural speech focused on education. He said he wanted to take on responsibility for the schools.
But today the SRC announced that the School District in Philadelphia is going to be drastically downsized. Many schools will be closed. More students will attend charter schools. In a school system that has already suffered devastating cutbacks, even if some of these changes make for a more efficient use of resources, the overall consequences for our kids cannot be good. None of the suggested administrative changes deal with the fundamental problem--we don't have the resources to provide our kids with the minimal requirements of a decent education. We don't have money for enough quality teachers, teacher training, school books, and counselors.
And the financial problem we face comes from Harrisburg and Governor Corbett's relentless attack on school funding. That has me wondering if Michael Nutter has forgotten his top priority or is simply unwilling to do what it takes to address the funding problem schools face at its source, that is, in Harrisburg.

Patco Riders Can Use ‘Contactless’ Credit Cards To Pay Fares

Patco Riders Can Use ‘Contactless’ Credit Cards To Pay Fares:
By Pat Loeb
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Patco riders will be able to pay their fare with a tap of a credit card, beginning Monday. Patco stations have been equipped to recognize the chip in so-called “contactless” Visa, Discover, and MasterCard’s.
Contactless cards have a computer chip and antenna, in addition to the familiar magnetic strip. They’re a fairly new option for credit card holders and they’re distinguished by a little graphic symbol of radio waves.
Patco worked with Cubic Systems to enable its software to recognize the cards. Cubic vice president Steve Brunner says that puts it ahead of other transit agencies.
“Patco’s ahead of most places in North America. Everybody wants to go to what we call ‘open payment’ and be able to use your credit card or even your mobile phone so Patco went to a contactless fare card a few years ago – the Freedom Card – and that kind of enabled them to support these transactions.
One agency Patco’s ahead of is SEPTA, which is hoping to convert to card readers in the summer of next year.
